My first time hatching Baby Chicks!!

My 5 baby chicks I hatched and my Olive Eggers I bought (Sunny and Poppy) are almost 6 weeks old; they're growing! I researched and tried my hand at a homemade incubator with a 30-gallon terrarium, a 60-watt heater emitter, black foam board around it (one of my friends mentioned it needing to be in a dark room), and tin foil at the top to cover the cage and tinfoil inside, and placed a blanket and towel around the terrarium to keep it warm. I used lots of sponges in the beginning, and I had to adjust my heater emitter up and down when the temperature fluctuated. At lockdown for humidity, I had to put a lot of sponges/washcloths to bring the humidity up and every 6 hours open and replace them (8 am, 2 pm, 8 pm). It was a bit tricky at times keeping everything regulated! 🥴🙃 But I was excited to see my first baby chicks hatch on April 17th 2025 and show my kids and hubby! It was all smiles and excitement!! 😍🥰 On April 18th 2025, three more hatched, and one I had to break the eggshell to help the baby chick out!💗
