The Queen Ant Job

Did you know that the Queen Ant only job is to lay eggs for the whole colony? She doesn't tell the colony what to do or where to go, all she does is lay eggs and the workers take care of her and the eggs. Some Colony can have only one queen ant or more then one queen ants! Sometime when there too many queen ants laying eggs, the workers ant form an attack to kill the other queen ants and sometime can accidently kill their mother queen ant for this reason when the colony gets too large. This is a way for the ants to control the population size of their colony and bring it into balance.
